I tread the trail of tattered syllables

blind, unencumbered 

I am a child again

repeating in that bewitching

stuttering fashion

stringing together a nestling of hygienically

rounded vowels

like ‘ogliometastic growth’

and ‘neoplasm’

strutting right out in the open

one troublesome word

buried deep in the nomenclature 

issues an ultimatum

I wander amongst my half tongue mutterings

seeking the two headed beast 

the conjuror of greening forest vapours

of a newborn babies tucked snuggly 

in the yeasty hearth of the cradling papoose
